Design/Product Engineer

Own the connective tissue between design and engineering at Orus: research to production code, using Cursor or Claude Code to move fast.

What you'll own

  • Own the full product lifecycle: research, conceptualisation, prototyping, implementation, and iteration
  • Talk to customers directly, turning real signal into design decisions that hold up in enterprise software
  • Design reusable, accessible components and implement them in production front-end code
  • Establish and uphold design patterns across the platform as it grows
  • Bridge design and engineering: translate high-fidelity designs into faithful, performant UI, and feed implementation constraints back into design
  • Build prototypes that show how new patterns should look and behave in code, not just in mockups
  • Champion accessibility, performance, and consistency as first-class properties of the system
  • Form a point of view on how AI shifts user behaviour, since this is an AI-native product with genuinely new design challenges

What you need

  • Strong experience designing complex digital products end-to-end, ideally in enterprise software or B2B SaaS
  • Obsessed with simplicity, and with digging into why things are the way they are. You think from first principles, not from "this has always worked like this"
  • Production experience with React and TypeScript, modern CSS, and component-driven architecture
  • Deep UX research skills: getting real signal from customers and turning it into design decisions
  • Experience building and maintaining a component library or design system that a real team shipped on top of
  • Fluency in Figma, and an understanding of how design tools and code should stay in sync
  • Pragmatic and biased toward shipping: fast prototyping, good with feedback, impact over perfection
  • Comfortable building with AI natively, using tools like Cursor or Claude Code daily
  • Low ego and collaborative: a partner to product and engineering, not a gatekeeper

Nice to have

  • Experience with design-system tooling
  • Experience designing or building for AI-native, agentic, or data-intensive products
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or other enterprise systems of record
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, early-stage environment
